Facial rejuvenation in Berlin
Facial rejuvenation with CO2 laser and thread lift
Both procedures can be used on the face, neck and décolletage. They are minimally invasive and are carried out on an outpatient basis.
How does a CO2 laser work?
A CO2 laser treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis and takes around 45 minutes. Local anaesthesia with a cream is required beforehand. The affected areas are treated using the wavelength of the fractional CO2 laser, also known as the Fraxel® laser. The irradiation creates tiny micro-injuries in the deeper layer of the skin. These injuries stimulate the body’s own wound healing and collagen formation. As a result, the skin in the irradiated areas essentially repairs itself.

Which treatments can be carried out with a CO2 laser?
- Facial rejuvenation and wrinkle treatment: CO2 laser treatment causes the body to form new collagen and the skin cells to renew themselves. This can reduce fine lines and grooves. This form of CO2 laser treatment can be used on the face as well as the neck or décolletage.
- Pore refinement: enlarged pores make the skin appear uneven. Treatment with the fractional CO2 laser stimulates the natural regeneration of the affected skin areas. This can make enlarged pores appear finer.
- Acne scar treatment: acne scars are often recognisable as dent-like changes and lie very deep beneath the skin. These irregularities can be treated with CO2 laser treatment without injuring large areas of the upper layer of skin.
- Scar treatment: deep-seated skin changes, such as scars, can also be treated with the CO2 laser. As with acne scar treatment, the upper layers of skin are barely affected; only the deeper layers of skin are treated.
How does a CO2 laser treatment proceed?
The areas to be treated with the CO2 laser are first numbed with a cream. Once the effect has taken hold, the skin areas are disinfected and treated with the fractional CO2 laser. A slight stinging sensation can be felt during this, but it is easily tolerated. Finally, the treated areas are cooled with a mask and a serum is applied.
After CO2 laser treatment, your skin will feel warm and be slightly reddened. The sensation is comparable to sunburn. Mild swelling may also occur, but this subsides quickly. A yellowish-red crust forms on the treated areas after the laser treatment. This comes off on its own in the days following the treatment. In general, you can resume your everyday activities straight after the CO2 laser treatment. However, we recommend avoiding public appearances for two to three days, as the after-effects of the treatment are still visible during this time. For one month after the treatment, you should consistently ensure that the treated areas are not exposed to the sun. For this reason, we recommend carrying out CO2 laser treatment during the winter months. You may apply make-up again 48 hours after the treatment.
What result is possible?
The aim of the treatment is a more even skin texture; scars, wrinkles and enlarged pores may be less pronounced. How noticeable the result is varies from person to person.
How does a thread lift proceed?
The thread lift is carried out on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia and takes 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the scope. Resorbable threads are inserted into the subcutaneous fatty tissue. The downtime you should expect is given in the quick facts below; we will discuss this during the consultation.
Risks and contraindications of the CO2 laser
Redness, a sensation of warmth and mild swelling are normal after the treatment and subside over the following days. The crusts come off on their own, please do not scratch them off. Temporary lightening or darkening of the skin is also possible, particularly in darker skin types or with sun exposure in the following weeks, as is the recurrence of cold sores. Infections or scarring occur rarely.
We do not treat, or only after prior consultation, in the following cases:
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- in the case of acute skin inflammation or infections in the treatment area
- in the case of recent tanning or sunburn
- after taking isotretinoin (acne medication) in recent months
- in the case of a tendency to raised scars (keloids)
Please let us know beforehand if you are prone to cold sores and which medications you are taking.

Facial rejuvenation with thread lift
Between the ages of 30 and 50, the face changes due to skin ageing as well as the slackening of the muscles and connective tissue. Have you noticed mild to moderate wrinkles and are considering neck and facial rejuvenation? Facial rejuvenation using a thread lift does not require surgery with a scalpel. It is used, for example, for drooping corners of the mouth or in the forehead and eyebrow area.
Thread lift at a glance
1. Who is it for?
The thread lift is a minimally invasive method for early sagging of the skin on the face, often used between the ages of 35 and 50.
2. How does it work?
During a thread lift, resorbable threads are inserted into the subcutaneous fatty tissue. They support the skin and stimulate collagen formation.
3. Areas of application
The thread lift can be used on many areas of the body, but is mostly used for sagging cheeks, a lack of definition along the jawline, drooping eyebrows or corners of the mouth, deep nasolabial folds, and to tighten the neck.
4. Procedure and downtime
The thread lift is carried out on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia, without surgery. A short period of downtime can be expected afterwards. How long the effect lasts varies from person to person. We will inform you of possible risks during the consultation.
